"Sixth grade topics are not only exciting, interesting, and fun to discuss but offer each student many ways to express themselves creatively within the curriculum.  When you break the class down into its main themes, it is clear to see that the main focus in the world is CHANGE. We look at change over different periods of time and study the births of religions, various civilizations and periods such as the Middle Ages.  We examine many civilizations and study their technology, art, and agriculture.  Different cities and empires, such as in the Americas and Asia, are also examined.  We learn about revolutions that took place in different ages.  We see how ideas literally spread across continents.  We utilize atlases to see the places we study and learn about states, countries and their capitals.  We understand the significance of geographical features and integrate vocabulary into other disciplines. The course takes us through the good and bad times of history as we connect to our modern world.  Ultimately, in the end of the class, we understand our lives better."
