6th Grade
This page will give you a run-down of the topics you will learn all about this year.  The topics are not only exciting, interesting, and extremely fun to discuss but offer each student many ways to express themselves creatively by doing their own research on their own topic within the given assignment.  When you break the class down into its main themes, it is clear to see that the main focus in the world is CHANGE. We look at change over different periods of time.  We study the births of religions, civilizations, the Middle Ages, and so on.  We look at each civilzation's land and also study their technology, art, and agriculture.  Different cities and empires, such as in the Americas and Asia, are examined.  We learn about revolutions that took place in different ages.  We see how ideas literally spread across continents.  We utilize atlases to see the places we study.  We learn about states and countries and their capitals.  We see the significance of geographical features.  We learn vocabulary and make connections.  The course takes us through good and bad times of history.  But in the end of the class, we understand our world better.
