of the bodies of the dead.
6. pyramid-huge stone structures built as tombs for pharaohs.
7. hieroglyphics-Egypt's 800 picture sign writing system.
8. papyrus-a reed plant
grown along the Nile used as paper.
9. economy-the way a country manages its resources to produce
goods and services.
10. expedition-a journey undertaken for a specific purpose.

cataract-a steep rapid in a river.
12. social pyramid-a triangle-shaped chart that shows the rank of people in its society.
