At the end of the 1800s the Polish doctor L.L. Zamenhof attempted to create a world language called Esperanto (meaning one who hopes).

Esperanto was different than English:
-the accent always falls on the next to last syllable
-all adjectives end in "a"
-all adverbs end in "e"
